On May 5, we invite you to a special BBQ where six startups from East Africa and Germany will present their innovative business models for a sustainable future. You will have the opportunity to learn more about the latest developments in the cleantech sector over a delicious barbecue and in a relaxed atmosphere.

  • Temitope Oguntade - Founder Chanels Innovations (Rwanda)
    Chanels is transforming energy management in Sub-Saharan Africa by developing AI-ready, smart multichannel energy metering systems tailored for micro-utilities.
  • Moses Nyakoyo - Founder Kijani Testing (Kenia)
    Kijani Testing is first and only laboratory in Sub-Saharan Africa for certified product testing as well as field and market testing for manufacturers.
  • Torooti Mwirigi - Founder SunWater (Kenia)
    SunWater installs solar-powered water ATMs in underserved communities to provide reliable access to clean, affordable drinking water.
  • Okwakau Abednego - Founder ZetaHub (Kenia)
    Zeta Spot is a solar-powered internet hotspot connectivity project by Zeta Hub for rural and off-grid market areas to unlock the e-commerce potential of SMEs at affordable costs.


Startups Freiburg:

  • Florian Bierwirth, EDENenergy
    EDENenergy is working on a solution to integrate discarded batteries from e-bikes or e-scooters into storage systems for photovoltaic systems.
  • Martin Haagen, eeaser GmbH
    eeaser GmbH uses digital technology to help companies reduce their energy costs and meet regulatory requirements with ease.
