About this event

What if the next breakthrough in AI isn't defined by what machines can do, but by what they should do? In this presentation, Dilem Kaya, a member of SAP's AI Ethics team and a master student at the Hasso Plattner Institute, highlights the balance between ethical guidelines and technological progress in AI development. She focuses on the advancements of cutting-edge AI systems and their ability to achieve "beyond human-level" performance, analyzing their implications for society and technology. With an emphasis on transparency, accountability, and human-centered design, Dilem illustrates how these principles are shaping both the present and the future of advanced AI development.

Dilem Kaya is a Master student in Digital Health at the Hasso Plattner Institute and a working student in the AI Ethics team at SAP. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Coding and Software Engineering. Beyond her academic pursuits, she is an active member of the Women in AI community and the AI Grid community as well as a scholarship holder of the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes. She regularly shares her insights as a speaker at renowned events and conferences in the field of AI.

The lecture is part of our Guest Talk series: "Using the Potential of AI: From the Idea to your own Implementation"

In Germany, one in five companies already uses artificial intelligence, but a lack of knowledge usually prevents other companies from also using AI. Are you ready to take the next steps towards AI?

Our Guest Talk series provides the necessary knowledge. How can AI be used effectively? What challenges are there? And what do specific use cases look like? Experts from science and business will give you insights into topics such as AI ethics and AI law and show you specific ways in which artificial intelligence can be used to optimize work processes and reduce the workload of employees. In addition, you can go straight into practice in our workshops and build your own AI applications under the guidance of our AI experts.

The AI Service Center Berlin-Brandenburg is a project of the Hasso Plattner Institute funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Its aim is to lower the barriers for using AI in business and society.
