With over a decade of research in microbiology and cellular stress response, her focus lies in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, particularly concerning infectious diseases like HIV, TB, and Hepatitis. Amanita is a strong advocate for policy change, supports at-risk trans communities, and leads groundbreaking research on SRHR in collaboration with organizations such as Gilead Sciences, Transgender Europe, UNAIDS, WHO, and ECDC.
