Curious about circuits?
Whether you're looking to repair devices, start building your own hobby electronics project or use microcontrollers such as Arduino to bring code to hardware, our Maker Basics: Soldering & Electronics session will give you the hands-on foundation you need to get started.
In just two hours, you can explore the following topics according to interest:
- How to solder confidently, using through-hole and/or surface-mount techniques
- An overview of electronic components and their usage
- How to use common electronics equipment such as a multimeter, breadboard and bench power supply
- An introduction to microcontrollers and mini-computers (Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi Pico or Raspberry Pi 5)
⚠️ This workshop focuses on basic tools and techniques. The point is to get your hands on the tools so you can come back and use the workshop on your own. You will not complete your own project in this workshop.
⚠️ Please note that some of the machinery in the FabLab may be dangerous, and all participants are required to sign a liability waiver before attending.
