The “Wasserstraßenkreuz” is a crossing of Elbe River with the Midland/Elbe-Havel Canal. Our boat trip starts from downtown Magdeburg at Petriförder 1, the jetty on the Elbe River. It is offered by the Weiße Flotte, Magdeburg. Start of the trip “Große Acht” (since the boat will perform a big eight) is at 13:00 h CEST; the boat will return to the same place, Petriförder 1, Magdeburg, at about 17:00 h CEST. For boarding, please be at the jetty already at 12:30 h, to give time to check the participant list before boarding. The boat will not wait.
Please look for possible updates on hygiene rules related to COVID-19 on the website of the Weisse Flotte at the link given above. More details on COVID rules in the ticket section to come below.
Registration
Please register EACH person, including children, separately, unless they are below the age of 4. Registration includes some personal details the Humboldt-Stiftung needs for reimbursement of the trip costs.
Tickets
The Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung will cover the costs of your tickets for the boat trip. Children (4 -14) will cost 50 % of full price.
Catering
The Weiße Flotte Magdeburg offers catering on board, here is the link to the on-board menu . The Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung is so kind to cover food and drinks up to 30 € per participant.
Dinner (on own cost)
After the boat trip my wife and me would like to have dinner with you at a restaurant in downtown Magdeburg. Suggestions by one of our local members was the Restaurant Culinaria at the Schleinufer. If the weather is fair, it offers a nice view from its terrace, but only if you order a full menu. Please have a look at the menu. In case you like to join, please tick the box on the form. I would then try to reserve tables at this place, accordingly. If there is no sufficient availability of tables on the terrace, we will have to move indoors, or move to another place. First come, first served policy. Please remember the 3G-rule for COVID-19 and have appropriate papers/mobile phone app and masks ready.
Looking forward to meet you all
