German Practice History Tour (A2)

Join us for a fun and educational German Practice History Tour (A2) starting at the Neptune Fountain and ending at the Brandenburg Gate!

This in-person event is perfect for those looking to improve their German language skills while exploring the rich history of the most interesting city in Europe. Take a stroll along the beautiful surroundings and practice your listening skills while an ethusiastic tour guides tells you about the sites along the 2 km walk. During the 2 hr tour, you will learn about Berlin's origins, the Prussian period, the post WWI Weimar Republic, and the Nazi Era. (The next tour is B1 level, and goes deeper into Nazi and Cold War history.)

The guide will speak slowly and clearly.

There is a vocabulary list hand out with all the necessary words listed for each stop along the way.

It is also a great chance to meet other intermediate German-language learners. Afterwards, you're invited to grab a drink and snack at a cozy, affordable cafe nearby.

Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, this tour is a great way to immerse yourself in the language and culture. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to learn and connect with others!

Your guide is Dylan, a professional English-language tour guide and also a German-language learner. Dylan designed the script with the help of an experienced German-language teacher with the intention of creating a tour that would be a fun way for learners to practice listening while learning about Berlin's rich history.

In the future, these tours will cost 20 Euros.

But this tour is pay-what-you-want.

Häufige Fragen

How to get there?

You can walk from Alexanderplatz or Museum Island (take the State Palace exit).

Is my German good enough?

I cannot say. But it will likely be a fun experience even if you miss something along the way. The grammar is simple and the sentences are short. The guide speaks slowly. And there is a hand-out to help you with any new words.
