What does it take to produce coffee in an industry that makes you invisible?
Arleen Jiménez, Ericka Mora, Tatiana Vargas, Margoth Rivera & Maria Jiménez each respond to this question from their own unique perspectives as women who are striving to build their businesses in coffee Costa Rica. Each of the women wrote, produced, and edited their short film with support and training in documentary film techniques from Needle + Frame and Bean Voyage. Collectively, the short films speak to the ways in which coffee is more than just a drink. The films are narrated in Spanish with subtitles in English.
Abhinav Khanal, co-founder of Bean Voyage, will introduce the film project and talk about how the non-profit organization collaborates with women coffee producers in Costa Rica and Mexico to build thriving business in coffee.
