About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

This tour will take us through the 'Bavarian Quarter,' which straddles Schöneberg and Wilmersdorf, in search of Jewish history.

Though very little of this neighbourhood survived the war, there is plenty of history to recreate together - we will see what remains of the 'Jewish Switzerland' which Albert Einstein once called home; the memorial to a lost synagogue; the high-school which was once Berlin's epicentre of liberal and 'mixed' education; and, above all, the enormous 'decentralised memorial' to the Jewish experience of the Nazi era entitled 'Places of Remembrance.'

Our tour will be meeting at Meeting point: the lion sculpture, Bayerischer Platz. We will meet at 13:00 and leave by 13:10.

The tour will take approx 2 hours and will finish back at the meeting point.
