About this event

Join us for an immersive afternoon of Authentic Storytelling!

In this intimate taster session, we cover the basics of screenwriting and explore the art of storytelling through a diasporic and indigenous lens. We use writing prompts that tap into individual identities, non-linear time, ecology and several other somatic modalities to empower you with more choices in the stories you tell and how you tell them.

We keep the group size very small ( a maximum of 4 people), so everyone gets a chance to create and share work in a supportive and inclusive environment. A google drive folder will be shared at the end of the session for attendees to access further writing resources. We will also share information about our full writing course at the end, but there is no obligation to attend.

The session is led by award-winning screenwriter, filmmaker and storyteller Candice Onyeama. Her writing background spans screen, video and digital mediums but her diasporic storytelling practices are universal to all narrative formats.

Whether you are an aspiring filmmaker, writer, or simply someone who loves stories, this workshop will ignite your imagination and leave you inspired.

About our host venue: C+ is an inclusive vegan bakery and cozy events space dedicated to equality for all.

Note: As we put an emphasis on an inclusive, intimate and personalised experience, please ensure you book first before turning up, as the session is not designed for drop-ins.
