ARCHIVES SONORES III Join us at Studio DB for the third edition of ARCHIVES SONORES, a platform dedicated to the outer edges of sonic experimentation. Curated by Avi Caspi &amp; Izumi Yamamoto, this evening brings together a visionary lineup of artists whose work traverses the intersections of electronic, acoustic, and visual media. Through live performances, DJ sets, and immersive audiovisual compositions, ARCHIVES SONORES invites you to engage with sound not just as a medium, but as an evolving, multidimensional experience—one that challenges conventional structures and embraces the fluidity of contemporary artistic practice. Featured Artists:🔹 Bălă (Alex Bălă) – A Bucharest-based composer whose practice spans theatre, dance, film, and installation. A key figure in acts such as #FLUID and deathbycoconut, his work explores the dynamic interplay between performance and sonic abstraction. His music has resonated in iconic spaces such as Berghain and the Venice Biennale. 🔹 Nicolas Bougaïeff – A Canadian-born, Berlin-based electronic producer, theorist, and innovator. With a PhD in minimal techno, Bougaïeff synthesizes rigorous academic methodologies with bold sonic experimentation. His releases on NovaMute and Mute push the boundaries of rhythmic perception, notably through his pioneering concepts of Pivot Mixing and Prime Rhythms. 🔹 James Banner – A Berlin-based improviser and solo bassist whose work deconstructs conventional instrumental technique. His performances, marked by an engagement with scordatura, sonic density, and tidal movement, have been showcased at Berliner Festspiele, IMPULS Festival, and PODIUM Esslingen. The evening will open with an evocative DJ performance by Melancholia Metamorphosis, a Kyiv-born artist whose work crafts liminal sonic spaces, and will conclude with a curated selection by Avi Caspi.
