一個香港人，何以跑到德國柏林，開一家繁體中文書店？encounters 以書店作為方法詰問這個時代關於流散、語言、身份、書寫與出版的種種十本香港出版物，道出香港的粤語／繁體字文學離散與重聚的故事兩位書店主理人的互動對談，分享在德國開辦中文書店，以及語言與歸屬等的看法。 「encounters」項目於2023年發起，以作為一個在柏林生活並常常經歷翻譯理解不能的香港人的回應。 2019年後，隨著越來越多香港人離開成長的城市，到世界各地尋找新的家，以及綜觀西方世界越來越多亞洲僑民社區，在全世界對解決歷史遺留下來的種族主義後遺的呼聲塵囂日上的氛圍下，促進有意義的對話越發迫切。「encounters」以一個獨立小書店計劃形式開始，精選來自香港及週邊地區獨立和自出版的出版物，主要語言為中文但亦包括其他語言，內容涉及當代東亞觀點和經驗，涵蓋範疇包括歷史、文學、藝術和文化。
